We are currently seeking a highly motivated Consulting Executive to provide thought leadership in healthcare’s value transformation and direction to clients seeking their paths to transformational change. Responsibilities are broadly defined and require strong analytical, creative, and interpersonal skills. This consulting leader must have strategic focus, excellent organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple projects, and the ability to communicate effectively. The ideal candidate is an experienced executive consulting professional with a Payer oriented, managed care strategy background able to work both independently and in a team environment. The ability to use common consulting tools to create and deliver content is a must, and is expected even when developing more junior team members. This executive consulting leader will have accountability to conceptualize holistic solutions, sell and oversee the planning of complex managed care consulting engagements and work with the broader Navigant and client’s continuum of care to insure satisfactory outcomes that deliver real results. They will be part of the thought and people leadership that elevates Navigant as a firm and lift our clients to the next level.
The Director will be responsible for
Leading holistic managed care Payer consulting thought leadership, and evolving Navigant’s approach to systematically, holistically responding to the demands of reform with the right mix of staff, innovation, tools, and structure to deliver superior results for Navigant’s clients
Providing consulting expertise in areas including: spearhead/develop next generation payment models (such as commercial/managed care single signature contracting under the ACO, bundles, direct-to-employer contracting, gain sharing, narrowed/tiered insurance networks, population health management) resulting in value based payments
Assessment of Payer as well as Provider alignment, contract risk positioning, physician alignment, Development of accountable care and business relationships with health care systems, payers and provider groups
Both individually and as a consulting team’s leader, advancing payer clients on clinical/financial outcomes and advancing the health payer and the systems they contract with through innovative programs
Client relationship management that results in relating effectively and with the highest degree of credibility to health plan/payer C-suite executives in the context of leading business development, marketing, and sales, as well as building and executing service delivery teams
Expanding the market by selling profitable consulting engagements both vertically and horizontally
Building/elevating Navigant teams to successfully guide the Payer in managed care/ strategy and care model redesign to maximize efficiency and outcomes
Providing knowledge of market context – how the provider environment should factor into key decisions and timing
Leadership of consulting staff.

Provide subject matter expertise, analytic prowess/interpretation and creative development of offerings to build capabilities to client and to Navigant
Identify and own the development of new consulting solutions that will be brought to market
Previous executive consulting or industry leadership with Medicare/Medicare Advantage (STARS and quality), accountable care organization, or patient centered medical home highly desirable
10+ years professional experience in a combination of the following:
Health Plan or Payer leadership
Health Plan executive level contract management
Client-facing healthcare consulting role
Proven verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to persuade senior management
10+ years of work experience in healthcare management and/or strategy, or equivalent consulting experience. 3+ years of work experience with payor in Medicare or Medicare Operations strategy or operations leadership, or financial strategy /ops or contracting strategy is highly preferred
Superb problem-solving and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated use of analytical skills that found innovative, holistic, value based strategic solutions
Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise staff in a collaborative and matrixed team environment to achieve budget and timeline goals
Experience selling consulting and building strong client relationships at the executive level, demonstrated by persuading boards and C-suites of Health Plan and Payor organizations to action for at least three years at a minimum of $4 million annually
Master’s degree in business, healthcare, or related field strongly preferred; Bachelors required
Demonstrated leadership achieving outcomes in healthcare consulting focused strategy and transformation projects
Proficiency in MS Office Suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project
Frequently communicates with clients and coworkers and must be able to share information effectively
Strong conceptual, as well as quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
Flexibility and responsiveness in managing multiple projects in sometimes high-pressure situations simultaneously
Self-motivator with ability to work independently
Plan, direct, and coordinate work activities of others
Frequently travels by airplane, train or car as necessary to perform work at another location
